u3a: Heritage and
the Future
Bradford u3a has been working with Kala Sangam on an Art and Heritage Project since Spring last year. The theme we have selected is ‘Bradford's Iconic Buildings – Past, Present and Future'. We have cho-sen to focus on the Wool Exchange, City Hall, the Cathedral and Bradford Live/Odeon. We are using drawing, painting and photography to produce art pieces for an exhibition in Kala Sangam's refur-bished premises at St Peter’s House. We are hoping this will be ready for late Autumn this year.
One of the regular participants is Catherine Dempsey who says “Working with Kala Sangam on our mutual art and heritage project in time for Bradford City of Culture 2025 has been an eye opener for me. In my view it has been a very enjoyable collaboration and brought out an artist in me that I didn't know existed before. We created art together as a group and also as individuals which we are all very proud of, made possible by Claire and Jess of Kala Sangam who are patient, efficient and very friendly, a trib-ute to the organisation.”

Claire Hudson will be working with us for the length of the project, finishing around summer 2025. .
All the workshops are free with refreshments provided.
These are the dates for the Artistic Sessions held at Kala Sangam who are now at Bank House, 41 Bank Street, Bradford. BD1 1RD, just round the corner from the Bradford Club, above Greggs. We will be in the 2nd floor hall which is completely accessible for our members.
