The group reads a book each month and meets to discuss it, at Shipley Library.
To join this group you just need an interest in reading a variety of books and a commitment to read one each month. The aim is to think about the book a bit more deeply than we would if we read it alone. We are not 'literary experts’, just keen readers who enjoy a lively discussion. It is amazing what new insights you get from talking to other group members.
The book group was set up in January 2014 and meets throughout the year. The meeting starts with a brief chat over refreshments. Then members use a list of discussion questions to discuss different aspects of the book.
We individually borrow the books from libraries or purchase a second hand one. World Of Books on line usually has cheap copies with no postage charge. Books are nominated by group members then we vote to determine the yearly programme.
