The u3a, a charity, is a national orgnisation for people no longer in full time work.
All u3as are run by the members. In Bradford u3a more than 20% of the members are involved in and enjoy organising and running activities for the whole membership.
Bradford u3a is part of the Yorkshire and Humberside Region (YAHR). Bradford u3a members can also attend activities run by the Craven, Horsforth and Ilkley u3as and by the YAHR region.
The Third Age Trust is the charity that is the umbrella body for the more than 1000 u3as across the country. They organise further activities and benefits for members of individual u3as.
As Bradford u3a is part of this larger organisation members benefit from activities organised nationally, through the Yorkshire and Humberside Region, and by other u3as in the Westnet region (Craven, Keighley, Ilkley, Bradford and Horsforth).
There is a variety of online courses and other activities available from the Third Age Trust.
By signing up to the u3a Friends newsletter, members get access to u3a Friends Extra, a wide range of offers and deals, covering health and wellbeing, shopping and travel discounts - to mention a few. Find out more on the u3a website.
