The main programme for 2025 is below. We do garden visits in the warmer weather and discussions on gardens, green and sustainability issues in the when it gets cold and rainy. Other suggestions for visits are posted to our WhatsApp group.
We all jointly contribute ideas for future activities and outings to create the main programme. Arrangements for specific visits such as times and meeting-up places are communicated round the group by whichever member initiates the visit. We have group chat on our WhatsApp group to share information and make plans. We try to find gardens accessible by public transport for the main programme.
New members are always welcome. Our group consists of gardeners with varying levels of skill and expertise, and people who just like visiting gardens.
Programme:
FEBRUARY - Monday 24th: Meeting at Ros's to watch the film 'Wilding' at 1.30pm.
MARCH - Monday 31st: Outing to Knaresborough to see the daffodils at the castle and gardens. Meet in Leeds station at 12.00.
APRIL - Monday 28th: CHANGED - Outing to Meanwood Urban Valley Farm. Meet outside Sainsbury's, the Headrow, Leeds at 12.00 to catch the bus.
MAY - Monday 19th Golden Acre Park, Lees: Meet in car park 1.30pm The outing to Lotherton Hall Gardens is cancelled as we couldn't find the 3 cars needed
JUNE - Monday 23rd,: Meeting at Suki's house to see garden at 1.30 Alma Grove off Low Ash Road near the Royal Privateer, Wrose, 633 bus from Shipley.
JULY - Saturday 26th: 12.00 Meet at Silsden Co-op, Silsden Open Gardens, more details later.
AUGUST: No meeting due to Bank Holiday etc.
SEPT - Monday 22nd,: To be decided.
OCT - Monday 27th: Meet at Ros's. Bulb planting 1.30pm
NOVEMBER 24th? Meet at Julie's. Quiz and game. 1.30 pm
DECEMBER 15th? Christmas Lunch. Airedale Heifer? 12.30pm
