The group continues to meet on the fourth Tuesday in the month. In June and July we meet at the existing Central Library at 10.30 am. On 23 June, the subject will be The Last Princess of Lahore. Jeremy Gibbon will be talking about Princess Sophia; Victorian socialite, suffragette, Great War nurse and supporter of Indian seamen. The July meeting will be on Jim Crow laws in the USA.
Informal talks are given by members, followed by relaxed discussions. Members are under no obligation to make presentations and decide on a general theme to follow for a season. A broad interpretation of that theme is encouraged and is reflected in the variety of the presentations made. Additionally, talks on topics outside any chosen theme are always welcomed.
Currently there are two themes: Resources, Technology and Foreign Trade; and Interventions and Invasions.

Refreshments available. There is a charge of £2.50 per session for the room hire including tea or coffee.
